Rim Lakes

Introduction

Score-O

On Saturday, September 17, we're offering a 2-Hour and 4-Hour Score-O in the pine forest surrounding the Rim Top Trailhead, 30 miles east of Payson, AZ. In the Score-O, participants navigate to as many destinations as they can in the 2- or 4-hour time limit. We'll include a number of easier destination markers for beginners as well as more difficult destinations for our experienced navigators. More details about the Score-O are found here.

Registration for the Score-O courses opens at 7:30 AM. Courses open at 8:00 AM. Those who want to do the 4-hour Score-O must start the course before 9:00 AM. The last time to start the 2-hour Score-O is 11:00 AM. Both courses close at 1:00 PM. Penalties apply to those who arrive after the time limit for the course. Penalities also apply for those who arrive after 1:00 PM. Those arriving after 1:15 are marked as DNF.

The area around the Rim Top Trailhead contains some of the most interesting terrain in Arizona. There is open forest, steep canyons, and mountain lakes. We're excited to offer a navigation event in the cool pine forest east of Payson. We hope you'll consider joining us for a day of exploration and adventure.
