The morning started clear and cool, with a snow covered Four Peaks mountain visible from the start area. Soon people started arriving and signing in. And they kept coming. In the past, we'd consider an event was a success if we had 30 people. For the First Water event we had 62! Newbies, families with kids, normal people, and hard-core lunatics all participated and had a great time. The course was challenging for those looking for a challenge, with plenty of reasonable controls and a beginner's White course thrown in for folks looking for a break. In all, the First Water event was a great success.

Results are listed below. Congratulations to Ron Birks for his ridiculous performance. He was able to tag 24 out of 25 controls. Andy Wentzel also nailed 24 controls but came in second in total points. Honorable mention also goes to Erik Ringnes and Derrick Berracy who each picked up 23 controls to grab 3rd and 4th place, respectively. For the teams category, Rib Mountain Racing took the top spot with 690 points. Team T&T&K grabbed 2nd with 620 points and Team Miles took 3rd with 610 points.

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated. A special big thanks to Gary Hickey, Derrick Beracy, Ron Birks, and Erik Ringnes for helping setup and run the event.
