We had another fun day exploring a new area for the club at the Boulders OHV Staging Area. Except for the off-highway vehicle traffic in the parking area and the random motorized vehicle we encountered on the jeep trails, we had the place all to ourselves, with the exception of a few wild burros wandering the area. We threw together a map in the last week before the event. Reports were that the map and the area were good and presented some interesting navigation challenges. We hope to return to the site in coming years.

One thing to note, this was the first event that we can remember where everyone who signed up showed up for the event. We had spitting rain for most of the morning, but we fortunately avoided any deluge. In spite of the rain, we had a full group for the event. Andy Wentzel was the only one to clear the course in under 2 hours. Erik Ringnes wasn't far behind, visiting 16 of the controls, while Reid Axman and Team Mathew both visited 13 controls. Of special note was the Spurling family who joined us at an orienteering for the first time. They visited an impressive 8 controls for their first time out.

Thanks to all of you who joined us at the event in spite of the rain. And special thanks to everyone who helped collect the bags after the event. By offloading some of the effort, your help makes it easier for us to present events. We hope to see you all at a future event.
