Note: A Tonto Day-Pass (or equivalent) is required. Events take place in Tonto National Forest. There is a permit fee to park at the Goldfield Recreation Site. While you can pay on-site, the fees on-site are 50% higher than if you pay beforehand. Refer to the Tonto website for more information concerning the park pass. Note that America the Beautiful passes are valid for the recreation area. The park pass is not part of the registration fee.

The Goldfield Recreation Site is located along the Salt River slightly north of the intersecton of the Bush Highway and Usery Pass Road. The orienteering start/finish is 1.2 miles north of the the Salt River Recreation Tube Rental and Shuttle Bus Center. The site includes small water drainages through mostly flat terrain. Navigating in the area includes careful attention to distance and bearing between points. While the event site itself is flat, views of Red Mountain and Coon Bluff to the west, the Usery Mountains to the north, and the Superstition Mountains to the east make the area quite scenic. We hope you'll consider joining us at our Goldfield event site.
