Our Needle Vista location has some of the most impressive scenery of all our orienteering event sites. With views of Weaver's Needle and the Flatiron, both in the Superstition Mountains, you'll want to bring a camera to capture different views of the scenery. The area is great for orienteering with lots of re-entrants, narrow canyons, and rugged terrain. Be sure to bring sturdy shoes and pants or gaiters to cover your legs. The vegetation here can get thick.

The Needle Vista event site is located in the Tonto National Forest just north-east of Apache Junction.

To get to the event site:

Needle Vista From Phoenix, take US 60 (Superstition Freeway) east to Apache Junction, exit at Idaho Road and turn left (north). When you reach the Apache Trail (Hwy 88), turn right. Drive about 7.2 miles NE along Hwy 88 to the signed Needle Vista turnoff. The turnoff is about 1/2 a mile past milepost 203. Look for the orange and white sign on the east side of the road.
