The Picketpost Trailhead event site is located approximately 30 miles southeast of Apache Junction, just southwest of the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. The start/finish is located at the Picketpost Trailhead, one of the many trailheads along the 800-mile long Arizona Trail. The location at the base of Picketpost Mountain is an excellent example of rugged, high-desert terrain. The views are spectacular. The site is a very picturesque location to practice your orienteering skills.
