12 orienteers braved the wilderness at night to compete in this event. The weather was cool, but good. With the wet winter and spring, water could be seen flowing in Butte Creek (we event had a control description rarely used in GPHXO maps...a stream junction!) Russ Pilcher had a Snickers bar ready to present anyone who visited control 20. Although you might think a 5 meter high cliff might be easy to find in the dark, the control proved elusive--only 4 entries of 8 actually visited the control. |
