We discovered that it's really busy at Lowell Observatory on Saturday nights in the summer. The parking and overflow parking lots were full to capacity with visitors enjoying the nighttime activities at the Observatory. We highly encourage you to visit this unique and educational National Historic Landmark. The Lowell Observatory grounds are just about the right size for a two-hour Night-O. We hope you'll join us for future events.
We had nine participants in our first ever Night-O at the Observatory. While most signed up as individual participants, separate groups formed during the event. The temperature was almost perfect for a run around our 7.5 km course. Amber and Sophie of team FDB cleared the course and snuck in with a minute to spare under the two-hour time limit. Kevin and Marc joined forces during the event and visited all but one of the controls with 15 minutes to spare. They could have easily bagged the last control but the threat of encountering a wayward moose or bear must have scared them to finish early. The pairing of Darcy and Kristen finished 10-minutes after the two-hour limit. They weren't the least bit concerned as they used the extra time to practice finding more controls.
Thanks for joining us at our Lowell Observatory events. We hope we'll see you again soon.
