We're excited to offer another day of navigation fun at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood, AZ. On Saturday, October 17, we'll present a Score-O with two options. For those looking for a limited amount of navigation, we're offering our usual 2-hour Score-O. Those looking for a more adventurous day can stay out for 4-hours. Both events use the same map. Dead Horse Ranch State Park is located along the banks of the Verde River on the north side of Cottonwood, AZ. With abundant water and scenic mountain landscapes nearby, the park is filled with a variety of birds and mammals. Three lagoons inside the park offer visitors an opportunity for fishing. The orienteering terrain is rugged with rocky scrub forest, washes and ravines, cliffs, and other topographic challenges. We hope you'll take some time from your busy schedules to join us to explore this new area. |

There is a $7 per vehicle entrance fee to enter Dead Horse Ranch State Park. The entrance fee is not included in the event registration fee. Each vehicle entering the park must pay the entrance fee. You can save money by car-pooling. |
In order to promote pre-registration for our events, the Club has a graded pricing structure. Participants who pre-register for the event will benefit from our priority pricing. While on-site registration is still available, pricing for on-site registration is more expensive. We'll print some extra maps for each of our events, but we cannot guarantee a map for those who do not pre-register. Note: For this event, we ask everyone to pre-register. Part of the pre-registration also involves selecting a time slot during which you plan to start the event. Please plan to start during the time window you select.

All participants under age 18 are now required to have a signed parental consent form on file with the club. You can complete the form before the event and either scan it and send it to us by e-mail or bring it with you to the event. |

Water bottles. | Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we will not provide water on the course. You need to bring whatever water you feel is necessary for your course. |
Sunscreen | There is little or no shade on the course. |
Sturdy hiking shoes and long pants | Recommended. You may encounter cactus, cat claw, and loose terrain. |
