Introduction

NOTE: APS is currently installing a new power line in the area. They should not be actively working on the day of the event, but please stay clear of all APS vehicles and equipment.

Come join us for another day of navigation fun in the cool pines near Prescott. We will once again visit our Spence Creek event site just west of Prescott on Iron Springs Road, approximately 15-30 minutes from downtown Prescott. The location is in a Ponderosa forest, at about 6000 - 6500 foot elevation. We'll present a 3-hour Score-O with a distance that some will complete in about 2-hours. This will our intermediate-level participants a chance to collect more points and will help offset a long drive from the Valley.

Our Spence Creek event map features a lot of detail for small reentrants (dry washes), boulders and knolls (small hilltops). The area is filled with many small trails and footpaths, so there will be lots of route choices.

You will have 3 hours to find as many control points as you can, and the points can be visited in any sequence. The penalty for returning past the 3-hour limit is 10 points per minute.

Schedule:

Registration/check-in opens at 8:30 AM.

Courses open at 9:00 AM or earlier.

Last time to start a course: 11:00 AM. (Note that you must start by 10 AM to have the full 3 hours on the course)

Courses close at 1:00 PM.
