Introduction

Events

  • 3-hour Score-O

Please join us as we offer another day of orienteering fun at a new event site just east of Munds Park. On Saturday, July 12, we'll present a 3-hour Score-O. During the Score-O, participants try to find as many destination markers and they can in the 3-hour time limit. There is no prescribed course to follow. Participants visit as many or as few markers as they can.

The terrain around the Pinewood Trailhead is mostly sparse pine forest with thicker growth in drainages that criss-cross the area. Forest thinning work is active in the area, so there are piles of cut trees and rough, chunky ground in the southern part of the map. Parts of the map further away from the trailhead include mostly thicker forest and rolling drainages. Parts of the course are runnable, while thicker vegetation in the drainages will slow you down. Water is available at the timer's table but not on the course itself. We advise participants to bring their own water.
